Profile Steering

Profile steering is a heuristic algorithm to steer a neighborhood power profile toward some desired power profile. Below a simplified example is given, for information on this algorithms see Demand side management using profile steering. This publication can be cited as:

Demonstration of the algorithm

  1. Full power charging at arrival of EVs
  2. Initialise: ask each house for a local flat profile, submit to fleet controller
  3. The fleet controller in iteration 1
    1. ... calculates the difference to the desired profile
    2. ... asks each house for the improvement value
    3. ... asks the house with the highest improvement to commit to the updated profile
    4. ... requests the updated profile from the house
